Celebrating 37 Years of Community Service

Our CRA Membership Annual Meeting June 6th - in case you missed it

Event pictures, full program video and slides of the historic Carmel area photos shared by our guest speaker James Perry with Pat Hathaway collection are included on our CRA Annual Program page. Everyone attending was thrilled to see images from this historic collection of our Village plus.

Our CRA president, Graeme Robertson presented our annual Business Recognition award to Bill Hill with his New Masters Gallery for 50 years of culture and community involvement. Graeme highlighted our organization's growth, work, projects, programs and events past and coming up.  He also introduced our CRA Board Members - with our newest addition, Hans Buder. Welcome Hans!

Thanks goes to James, Bill, Graeme, Frankie, the Twomeys, Austin, the Potters, Sara, David O, 5th Avenue Deli...and others forgotten here.  AND a big thanks to all of the CRA Members who joined us and support us - both new and for decades now!

AND ANNOUNCING...

CRA is contributing $5,000 to the Carmel Youth Center (CYC) and announced a match challenge - by engaging our great CRA Members in this $5,000 matching campaign. These dollars support the CYC in creating a safe haven for all of this next generation of Carmel area citizens.  Your donations will help support CYC's summer camp, after school programs, early learning programs, associated programs supplies, as well as providing assistance with building maintenance to accommodate these and future programs.  We are counting on the generosity of our CRA Members to add what you can!

PLEASE DONATE: Make your matching tax deductible donation (in whatever amount works for you) by:
* going to the CYC website, carmelyouth.org, or this direct donation page,  selecting the "CRA Match" online donation
* or by mailing your check donation directly to: Carmel Youth Center, PO Box 2399, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Ca 93921, with a "CRA Match" note included.

YOUR QUESTIONS: If you have questions, email to [email protected], stop by the center on 4th Avenue between Junipero and Torres Street, or call 831-624-3285 or 831-620-9196.

TAX INFO:  Carmel Youth Center is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Tax ID 94-1415306.

                                                            Civic Meeting/Topic Updates

Our Village Security Cameras (Flock) Listening Session

A Flock Camera Ad Hoc and Community Input/Update session was hosted by Alissandra Dramov, Bobby Richards and Paul Tomasi. This June 10th session covered camera systems, process, placement etc.  Visit our CRA Security Cameras page for this week's meeting highlights, community concerns and Youtube video, plus the previous meetings, press and background information.

Our Village Parking & New State Requirements

Please visit our CRA Parking  page for materials on this legislation and impact as reviewed in the May 29th meeting and presented by Chief Paul. Added background and press coverage is also provided on our page. Downtown parking will decrease by the end of 2024 - exact numbers and more to follow at a future City Council and/or Planning Commission Meeting.

Our Village Police Station Project Update

On June 6th Chief Paul Tomasi reviewed the needs and wants of his team, hosted by Dave Potter and Jeff Baron on this Ad Hoc team. Community members attending generally concurred that alternative schematic proposal(s) are needed for optimal decision making and they continue to be concerned on the future funding/expense approach. All of the background, documents, videos etc are shown on our CRA Police Building Project page.

Our FY 2024/2025 Budget Was Approved

At the June 4th City Council - this coming year's (beginning July 1) budget was approved by Council in a 4/1 vote. Visit our CRA Budget page for highlights and  documents, etc.

Our Village Housing Element Updates in these last few weeks

* The roster of work ahead by City Planning Department on programs and tasks in the upcoming years of our 6th Cycle Housing Element (ending 2031).
