Our CRA Membership Annual Meeting June 6th - in case you missed it

Our CRA president, Graeme Robertson presented our annual Business Recognition award to Bill Hill with his New Masters Gallery for 50 years of culture and community involvement. Graeme highlighted our organization's growth, work, projects, programs and events past and coming up. He also introduced our CRA Board Members - with our newest addition, Hans Buder. Welcome Hans!

CRA is contributing $5,000 to the Carmel Youth Center (CYC) and announced a match challenge - by engaging our great CRA Members in this $5,000 matching campaign. These dollars support the CYC in creating a safe haven for all of this next generation of Carmel area citizens. Your donations will help support CYC's summer camp, after school programs, early learning programs, associated programs supplies, as well as providing assistance with building maintenance to accommodate these and future programs. We are counting on the generosity of our CRA Members to add what you can!

Our Village Security Cameras (Flock) Listening Session
A Flock Camera Ad Hoc and Community Input/Update session was hosted by Alissandra Dramov, Bobby Richards and Paul Tomasi. Our Village Parking & New State Requirements
Please visit our CRA Parking page for materials on this legislation and impact as reviewed in the May 29th meeting and presented by Chief Paul. Added background and press coverage is also provided on our page. Downtown parking will decrease by the end of 2024 - exact numbers and more to follow at a future City Council and/or Planning Commission Meeting.
Our Village Police Station Project Update
On June 6th Chief Paul Tomasi reviewed the needs and wants of his team, hosted by Dave Potter and Jeff Baron on this Ad Hoc team. Community members attending generally concurred that alternative schematic proposal(s) are needed for optimal decision making and they continue to be concerned on the future funding/expense approach. Our FY 2024/2025 Budget Was Approved
At the June 4th City Council - this coming year's (beginning July 1) budget was approved by Council in a 4/1 vote. Visit our CRA Budget page for highlights and documents, etc.
Our Village Housing Element Updates in these last few weeks
Again please visit our CRA Housing page that highlights: * The roster of work ahead by City Planning Department on programs and tasks in the upcoming years of our 6th Cycle Housing Element (ending 2031). * The AHA community team self-introduction was presented at the June 4th City Council in open comments working to substitute the City-owned sites (Sunset Center and Vista Lobos) in our Housing Element. * Looking back at 2023, the City's mandatory Annual Report to Sacramento on our Housing Element, is on the June 12th Planning Commission agenda.

This is especially timely as we look for Mary's insights relevant to all of our Carmel area regarding affordable Housing challenges and more.
